Action against encroachment, really?

It’s funny to read news articles about the PMC taking action against encroachment every once in a while. What’s even funnier is the fact that these so-called actions are always against small vendors, open markets, and the likes. Well, it is good to see the corporation putting things in order, and we appreciate it. But what about the real encroachers? The many businesses that boldly encroach at will. Is there no law governing them? Or are their bribes bigger than those poor vendors?

It’s ironic, how roadside businesses can’t do business in temporary spots, whereas these businesses, like restaurants for one, can occupy as much space as they want without any hurdle.

Sadly, this is how governance works, by strangling the poor, and encouraging the rich. Then why pretend? Let everyone encroach whatever and wherever they can, poor or rich. End the hypocrisy!
