The idea that was used to sell kharghar two decades ago, is fast becoming a lie. Why? Well, look around. Every open space or land mass is fast getting converted into residential, commericial or so-called “infrastructure projects”!
Well, we don’t deny the need for better infrastructure, but is a node just tabout buildings and bridges and highways?
Just think – With the Turbhe tunnel, there will be a highway running through kharghar in some years, increasing noise and air pollution by overwhelming levels. So the peaceful locality that residents once thought Kharghar was, will become a highway-side locality.
The International Corporate Park will bring in another level of traffic chaos into the node, along with noise and air pollution.
Forget green and open spaces – the ‘only thing green that will remain’, will be the Kharghar hills, and CIDCO has had no hand in creating those – if anything at all, they will be the reason for its complete destruction in the years that follow!
The truth is that the development authority is only ‘building cities’ for the bureaucrats, politicians, builders, and investors lobby – not for the residents!
So, get ready to ‘buy homes in the next clean and green’ node of Navi Mumbai, because Kharghar won’t be one in the next 10 years – Oh yes, talking about that – Cidco is all set to ‘sell the next fake dream city – KSC New Town!‘
