The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has presented its ₹6,704.43 crore budget for the financial year 2026–27, along with revised estimates for 2025–26, at a special general body meeting.
The budget was formally tabled by Standing Committee Chairman Ashok Patil before Mayor Sujata Patil. Deputy Mayor Dasharath Bhagat, Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde, House Leader Sagar Naik and other members were present during the session.
As per the revised estimates for 2025–26, the civic body has projected a total income of ₹5,830.82 crore, including an opening balance of ₹1,839.58 crore and receipts of ₹3,991.24 crore, against an estimated expenditure of ₹4,564.98 crore.
For 2026–27, the proposed budget outlines total receipts of ₹6,704.43 crore, including an opening balance of ₹1,265.83 crore, with expenditure estimated at ₹6,689.43 crore, leaving a closing balance of ₹15 crore.
The budget will now be taken up for detailed discussion at the general body meeting scheduled for April 6 at 11 am.
In addition, budgets for the transport undertaking and the Tree Authority were also presented during the session.
Outlining the broader intent, Standing Committee Chairman Ashok Patil said the focus would be on delivering quality civic infrastructure across all wards while advancing key public projects to strengthen Navi Mumbai’s position as a well-planned urban centre.
