Student-run stalls at Changu Kana Thakur Arts, Commerce and Science College (Empowered Autonomous), New Panvel, recorded substantial sales at a Diwali Bazaar held on 4 November. The event, organised by the college run by Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, featured products made and presented by students of its Fashion and Apparel Design and Interior Design departments.

The stalls offered handmade accessories, decorative pieces, diyas, Diwali decorations and food products, giving students an opportunity to take their work beyond the classroom and put it before buyers.

The bazaar was inaugurated by college principal Dr S. K. Patil, in the presence of Prof. Dr B. D. Aghav, in-charge professor of the Science Department and IQAC coordinator, and Prof. S. B. Yadav, in-charge professor of the Commerce Department.

The event was coordinated by professors Deepshree Rathod and Prajyoti Desai. During his visit to the stalls, the principal interacted with students and offered suggestions. Heads of departments and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff were also present.

For the participating students, the bazaar brought practical aspects of entrepreneurship into focus, including product-making, presentation, customer interaction and sales. It also provided an opportunity to apply their design and creative skills in a marketplace setting.

The two departments thanked the institution and its management for supporting the initiative and providing students with a platform to display and sell their work.
