The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has secured the top rank in Maharashtra under the state’s 150-Day Administrative Reforms Programme, emerging as the highest-ranked civic body in the latest evaluation cycle.
The recognition was presented at a ceremony held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai, where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis handed over the citation to Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale.
The civic body secured the first position in the state for its performance under e-governance reforms as well as the Sevakarmi Plus initiative, both key components of the programme.
In the same state-level evaluation, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation ranked 4th in state — placing both the civic bodies of Navi Mumbai among the stronger performers in the reform-driven assessment.
Senior officials, including Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar and Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, were present at the event.
The 150-Day Administrative Reforms Programme evaluates administrative efficiency, digital governance adoption and service delivery improvements across government offices, with a structured focus on measurable outcomes.
With this, Panvel Municipal Corporation has emerged as the top-performing civic body in the current cycle, while the broader results reflect an ongoing push towards streamlined governance and technology-led public services across urban local bodies in Maharashtra.
