The ‘Yuva Shakti Jagar’ yatra organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of BJP, witnessed a strong turnout of young participants during its stop in Panvel, with multiple programmes held across the city.
The yatra, led by state president Krishnaraj Mahadik, reached Panvel on April 21 and was welcomed with a motorcycle rally starting from the Garden Hotel area, where a large number of youth took part. During the rally, participants paid tributes at the memorials of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Mahadik addresses workers, praises local leadership
A meeting of party office-bearers and workers was held at the Ramsheth Thakur Social Development Hall, where Mahadik interacted directly with party members.
During his address, he acknowledged the contribution of local leadership, including Ramsheth Thakur, MLA Prashant Thakur and corporator Paresh Thakur, noting their role in the development of the region. He described Panvel as a place shaped by their work and contribution.
Mahadik also emphasised a collaborative approach to organisational growth, stating that despite his position, he intended to work alongside party workers and learn from them. He encouraged youth members to take initiative across sectors and contribute actively to strengthening the organisation.
Youth engagement through ‘Meet-up with KM’
One of the key events during the visit was the ‘Meet-up with KM’ session held at Vadale Lake, where Mahadik engaged with young participants and social media influencers. The interaction focused on connecting with the younger generation and encouraging their participation in political and social activities.
Focus on mobilisation and organisation building
The yatra is aimed at mobilising youth and expanding the organisational base of the youth wing. Party representatives stated that the initiative seeks to bring together young workers and create awareness about political and social engagement.
Local office-bearers, including corporators and district-level leaders, were present at the event along with a large number of party workers and youth participants.
