Canal restoration: Sector 12 boundary walls and stone filling taking shape

The restoration of the Sector 12 canal has progressed further. A good length of the canal, from the bridge towards the Raintree Marg side, has been padded with walls on both sides, with adequate stone fillings for shaping the slopes on both sides already been done. Work is now progressing twards the other end of the canal, towards the bridge situated in the Shivaji Chowk area in sector 12.

The restoration of the Sector 12 canal has reached a noteworthy milestone this week. A substantial length of the boundary walls has now been constructed on both flanks of the waterway, with work proceeding at a commendable pace. Despite the scale of the task, contractors remain confident that the project is on track for completion within the promised timeframe.

The PMC is carrying out the boundry wall work of canals in Kharghar. The cleanup and repair activity we observed at the canal in Sector 12, Kharghar, was part of the major work being carried out in several parts in the node, majorly near Jal Vayu Vihar in secror 21.
The work is primarily for building walls on both sides of the canal to stop the mud and debri from slipping into the canal.
One of the contractors informed that it would take a total of two months each to build both sides of the canal.
With the monsoons just four months away the PMC is ensuring that they canals work to their optimum best when the rains comes pouring in.
