Kharghar is set to host a second consecutive Hanuman Janmotsav celebration on April 2, with the SBKL Foundation planning an evening centred around devotional rituals and community participation, just like last year.
The event, scheduled from 3 pm to 10 pm on Thursday, 2 April, follows last year’s celebration which saw a strong turnout of devotees — a response that appears to have set the tone for this year’s edition as well.
The celebration will include:
- Akhand Jyot (continuous sacred flame)
- Sundar Jhanki (devotional tableau)
- Bhavya Darbar (ceremonial devotional assembly)
- 56 Bhog (traditional offering of 56 food items)
- Mahaprasad (community feast — timing to be announced)
- Vishal Kirtan (mass devotional singing)
A devotional music performance by Sony and Party will form a key part of the evening, with live singing expected to carry through the programme.
Organisers have appealed to residents to participate in large numbers as preparations continue for the event.
