Senior IAS officer Rubal Agarwal has recently assumed charge as the Divisional Commissioner of the Konkan region.
Following her appointment, a delegation from the Panvel Taluka Journalists Association met her at the Konkan Divisional Commissioner’s office in Navi Mumbai and extended their greetings.
The delegation was led by Ratnakar Patil, President of the association and Editor of Raigad Shiv Samrat newspaper, who welcomed Agarwal with a bouquet.
Interaction with journalists
During the meeting, Agarwal suggested that instead of bouquets, visitors may consider bringing reading material in the future, stating that it would be more meaningful and useful.
The interaction also included a discussion on issues faced by journalists in the course of their work. Members of the association raised concerns related to day-to-day reporting and professional challenges.
Ratnakar Patil indicated that a separate meeting would be scheduled to present a detailed account of pending issues and demands concerning journalists in the district.

Also present during the meeting were Manoj Suman Shivaji Sanap, in-charge Deputy Director (Information), Konkan Division, and senior journalist Subhash Waghpanje.
Administrative role
As Divisional Commissioner, Agarwal will oversee administrative coordination across districts in the Konkan region, including Raigad, and will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of government policies and programmes at the regional level.
The interaction is expected to facilitate communication between the administration and members of the press in the region.
