Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik has completed his self-enumeration for Census 2027 and urged citizens to do the same using the online facility.
Describing Census 2027 as a key exercise for informed planning and development, Naik noted that information entered directly by individuals ensures better accuracy. He called on residents to make use of the self-enumeration option and participate proactively in the Navi Mumbai Census 2027.
Census 2027 self-enumeration open from May 1 to May 15
The first phase of Census 2027 began on May 1 and will continue until May 15. The process of Census 2007 self-enumeration is quite simple. Residents can complete self-enumeration online through the official government portal http://se.census.gov.in/ by answering a set of standard questions relating to household conditions, family particulars and available amenities. All information collected during the process will be kept confidential, limited to use for Census 2007 alone.
Naik completed the process in the presence of civic officials, including City Census Officer and Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Shinde.
Mayor and commissioner complete Census 2027 self-enumeration, urge participation
Navi Mumbai Mayor Sujata Patil and NMMC Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde have also completed their Census 2027 self-enumeration and urged residents to take part.
Patil stated that the Census 2027 data will support planning at the national, state and city levels, adding that the information provided will remain confidential and used solely for census purposes. Commissioner Shinde similarly emphasised the importance of submitting accurate details and making full use of the self-enumeration facility.
Census 2027 household visits scheduled from May 16 to June 14
In the second phase of Census 2027, enumerators will visit households between May 16 and June 14 to collect data. Residents have been asked to provide complete and accurate information during these visits to ensure reliable data collection.
Digital Census 2027 aims to improve accuracy and transparency
Census 2027 is being conducted as a digital-first exercise, with digital self-enumeration introduced to improve accuracy, transparency and ease of participation. Citizens can complete the process using a mobile phone, laptop or computer via the official portal.
