BJP Maharashtra state secretary and MLA Prashant Thakur has taken up two significant land-related issues affecting villages in the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) with state Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The issues concern the availability of government land for essential public amenities in NAINA villages and the long-pending expansion of the existing village settlement in Shivkar.
Thakur met the Revenue Minister and submitted a detailed representation outlining the concerns and seeking an early resolution.
One of the principal demands raised was that government lands classified as Gurcharan, Gairan (E-Class land)) and other categories of government land within the NAINA area be made available to the respective gram panchayats. The land is sought for the development of essential public infrastructure, including schools, healthcare centres, playgrounds and other social and community facilities.
The representation also highlighted the pending issue of expanding Shivkar’s existing village settlement, particularly the land measuring 8 hectares, 30 ares and 80 square metres (8.308 hectares) under Survey No. 129 at Mouje Shivkar. The classification of portions of this land as Gurcharan in the revenue records has contributed to the issue remaining unresolved.
Drawing attention to the historical background, Thakur informed the minister that the village settlement has existed since 1939. He also highlighted the residential houses occupied by villagers, the history of earlier village settlement expansions and discrepancies in the entries contained in revenue records. He urged the minister to consider these historical circumstances and documentary details while examining the matter.
Taking note of the significance of both issues, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule indicated that a meeting would be convened shortly with the Raigad District Collector and the Sub-Divisional Officer to discuss the matters and explore a positive resolution. He also assured the delegation that the concerns raised would be examined.
Youth Wing district president and sarpanch Anand Dhawale, along with members of the concerned gram panchayats, was present during the meeting.
Will continue to pursue village development at government level
Reiterating his commitment, MLA Prashant Thakur said he would continue to pursue these matters at the government level to ensure the comprehensive development of villages in the NAINA area, the availability of land for essential public amenities through gram panchayats and a fair resolution to the long-pending issue concerning the expansion of Shivkar’s existing village settlement.
