A free cancer awareness and screening camp for women above the age of 30, along with a general health check-up camp for citizens, will be organised in New Panvel on Tuesday, June 2, as part of the Amrut Mahotsav birth year celebrations of former MP Ramsheth Thakur.
The initiative is being organised by the Shri Ramsheth Thakur Samajik Vikas Mandal, a social service organisation associated with multiple public welfare activities in the region.
The health camp will be held from 10 am to 5 pm at Changu Kana Thakur Vidyalaya in New Panvel.
According to organisers, the camp will focus particularly on awareness and free screening related to cervical cancer, breast cancer and oral cancer among women.
In addition to cancer screening services, the camp will also provide facilities including BMI assessment, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, eye examinations, ECG, blood tests, tuberculosis screening, chest X-ray services and family planning guidance.
Specialist doctors are also expected to offer consultation and guidance in areas such as gynaecology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, ophthalmology and dental care.
Information regarding HPV vaccination will also be made available during the programme.
Organisers further stated that facilities for generating Ayushman and ABHA health cards will also be provided at the venue.
Women from the Panvel region, including Kharghar and Taloja are requested to avail the free cancer detection and general health checkup camp.
