To mark International Women’s Day, the Karavali Sports and Education Trust will organise the Raigad district-level ‘Thirty Plus’ Karavali Throwball Championship on Sunday, 8 March, at Khanda Colony in Panvel.
The tournament will be played at the C. K. T. College ground, where women athletes aged above 30 from across Raigad district are expected to participate.
The event will be inaugurated by Panvel Municipal Corporation Mayor Nitin Patil. The programme will be held under the chairmanship of Mahabala Shetty, Chairman of the Karavali Sports and Education Trust.
Dignitaries expected to attend the event as chief guests include Dr Aarti Malik, Managing Director of Aarti Malik Lab, corporators Kavita Choutmol, Kusum Patil and Sita Patil, economist Shalaka Solse, and Shweta Shetty.
The organisers said the championship aims to encourage women’s participation in sports and provide a competitive platform for athletes above the age of 30.
The event is being supported by several local organisations, including the BJP Panvel City Mandal, Shri Khandeshwar Ayyappa Bhakta Vrund, Karnataka Sangha Navi Panvel, and Udupi Shri Krishna Bhajan Mandal, Khanda Colony
