An inter-collegiate football tournament organised in coordination with the University of Mumbai and Changu Kana Thakur Arts, Commerce and Science College, New Panvel (Empowered Autonomous), run by the Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, was inaugurated on Friday, 4 September 2026.
The tournament is being conducted from 4 September to 12 September 2026, with 52 men’s teams from colleges participating in the competition.
The tournament was inaugurated by Prof. Dr S.K. Patil, Principal of Changu Kana Thakur Arts, Commerce and Science College.
The inauguration was attended by Daniel Anthony, a former student of CKT College and national-level handball player; Dr Manoj Reddy, Director of Sports, University of Mumbai; Dr Manoj Verma, Tournament Secretary, Mumbai City Zone-1; and Dr V.B. Naik, Joint Tournament Secretary, Mumbai City Zone-1, as guests.
Sports department involved in tournament arrangements
The college’s gymkhana department is coordinating arrangements for the tournament. Dr V.B. Naik, Chairman of the Gymkhana Department; Prof. Anil Nakti, Co-Director; Prof. Bharat Jitekar; and Prof. Saraswati Korde, along with members of the Gymkhana Department, have been involved in organising the competition.
The tournament brings together college football teams from across the participating Mumbai University circuit and will continue through 12 September.
