The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a 12-hour water supply shutdown across several parts of the city on Wednesday, April 22, to undertake pipeline-related works.
According to the civic body, the shutdown will be in effect from 10 am to 10 pm to facilitate the installation of manifolds and valves at the CBD Belapur Sector 28 pump house, along with additional valve installation works at Kalamboli Circle and Nerul Sector 19 near Wonder Park. A pipeline connection work involving a 900 mm diameter line at Ghansoli Sector 2 will also be carried out during this period.
Multiple nodes to be affected
Water supply will remain suspended during the shutdown period in Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli. Areas connected through direct pipeline connections and CIDCO nodes such as Kharghar and Kamothe will also be affected.
Supply to remain low on following day
The civic body has stated that there will be no water supply on the evening of April 22. In addition, water supply on Thursday, April 23, is expected to be available at low pressure during both morning and evening hours.
Civic body appeals for cooperation
The NMMC has urged residents to use water judiciously during the shutdown period and cooperate with the administration while the works are carried out.
