The grand ‘Swar Sandhya’ musical evening organised as part of former MP and senior social leader Ramsheth Thakur’s Amrut Mahotsav year celebrations left music lovers in Panvel thoroughly captivated with an evening filled with melody, devotion and cultural richness.
The programme was jointly organised by the ‘Loknete Ramsheth Thakur Amrut Mahotsav Varsh Niyojan Samiti’, ‘ Shri Ramsheth Thakur Samajik Vikas Mandal’ and ‘Nadbrahma Sadhana Mandal Kharghar’, and witnessed an enthusiastic response from residents and music enthusiasts across the region.
The musical gathering, held at the grounds of Shri Ramsheth Thakur Samajik Vikas Mandal in Panvel, began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by Loknete Ramsheth Thakur, former municipal president and senior leader J M Mhatre, senior leader Y T Deshmukh, Bhajansamrat Nivruttibuwa Chaudhary, H B P Mahadevbuwa Shahbazkar and Adv Prasad Patil.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were BJP Maharashtra state secretary MLA Prashant Thakur, BJP district president Avinash Koli, Mayor Nitin Patil, former House Leader and corporator Paresh Thakur, former BJP city president Jayant Pagde, district vice-president Ganesh Kadu, Raigad Bhushan Pandit Umesh Chaudhary, corporator Ajay Bahira, corporators Darshana Bhoir, Pratibha Bhoir and Poonam Thakur, along with Vasantbuwa Patil, J T Patil, Manohar Masane, Santosh Patil, Ashok Patil, Pt Tushar Chatterjee, Vilas Khanavkar, former Karanjade sarpanch Rameshwar Angre, Swapnil Thakur, Aadesh Thakur, Apoorva Thakur and several personalities associated with the field of music and culture.
The event also served as a tribute to Ramsheth Thakur’s contribution across social service, education, cultural activities and public life. Organisers noted that a series of social, educational, cultural and sports-related initiatives are being organised throughout the Amrut Mahotsav year, with ‘Swar Sandhya’ emerging as one of its major cultural highlights.
One of the biggest attractions of the evening was the performance by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs fame singers Anjali Gaikwad and Dnyaneshwari Gadge, who won over the audience with their soulful and expressive singing.
The duo presented a mix of devotional songs, bhavgeet, abhangas and popular musical renditions, receiving repeated applause from the audience throughout the evening. Their performances created an immersive musical atmosphere that kept listeners engrossed from start to finish.
The programme was further elevated by the accomplished accompaniment of Pandit Pratapbuwa Patil on the mridangam, Prasad Padhye on tabla and Suryakant Surve on percussion. The synchronisation of vocals and live instrumentation added depth and richness to the overall presentation, with audience members frequently applauding the artistes for their performances.
Adding a devotional dimension to the evening, Navdurga Prasadic Bhajan Mandal from Kopra presented a series of bhajans that infused the venue with a spiritual atmosphere.
Singer Shivmala Patil’s devotional renditions drew an appreciative response from the audience, while pakhawaj player Nilesh Patil and tabla artiste Milind Kadu provided musical accompaniment during the bhajan session.
The programme was compered by Manohar Madke, who introduced the artistes and performances in his characteristic style while keeping the audience engaged throughout the evening.
Music lovers present at the event described the programme as one of the memorable cultural highlights organised during the Amrut Mahotsav year celebrations.
The organisers also acknowledged the efforts taken for the successful execution of the programme by the organising committee as well as Raigad Bhushan Pt Umesh Chaudhary, Akshay Chaudhary and Vaibhav Chaudhary of Nadbrahma Sadhana Mandal.
