Panvel witnessed a joint commemorative event marking the 21st anniversary of the Raigad Press Club and the first anniversary of the Panvel Mahanagar Press Club, where journalists and individuals engaged in social service were recognised.
The programme was held on April 8 at the Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natyagruha in Panvel.
On the occasion, journalist Haresh Sathe from Panvel was honoured with the Raigad Zilla Shramik Patrakarita Sanman Award. The award was presented by State Fisheries and Ports Development Minister Nitesh Rane and former Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Pravin Darekar.
The event was presided over by S. M. Deshmukh, trustee of the Marathi Patrakar Parishad and founder of the Raigad Press Club.
Among those present were Mayor Nitin Patil, Zee 24 Taas Editor Kamlesh Sutar, Marathi Patrakar Parishad President Milind Ashtivkar, Congress district president and labour leader Mahendra Gharat, former Konkan MHADA chairman Balasaheb Patil, corporator Prathamesh Soman, Marathi Patrakar Parishad Konkan division secretary Manoj Khambe, Raigad Press Club president Prashant Gopale and Panvel Mahanagar Press Club president Prashant Shedge.
Office bearers of both press clubs, journalists, representatives of various organisations and social workers attended the programme.
